Mirambeena Motel
was purchased by Sue Beames and Stephen Edwards in early 2006. The Motel was in quite a delapitated state with beds and upgrading still the same as they were back in 1961. When the property was originally built by BHP as a trainee centre for engineers.
Sue and Stephen began an internal renovation of the Motel in February 2007 and finally in June of that year, after an initial $400,000.00 spent on the refurbishment,they proudly opened the reborn Mirambeena Motel.

Sue Beames, Director
Sue moved to Whyalla with her Partner Stephen from Victor Harbor in 2006, affectionately known as “Beamer” to her customers or Mum Sue. Sue’s vibrant personality and sense of humour are well known together with her genuine concern for guests and customers. Sue has now had 25 plus years in hospitality having owned her own restaurant for many years (Chester’s) and also as a manager at the Hotel Victor.

Motel Manager
Craig Rawlins the Rawlins name being well known in the Motel and Hospitality industry for some 34 years. Craig brings with him all of this experience and knowledge of the industry. Having owned and operated the Patawalunga Motor Inn at Glenelg and the Lakes Resort Motel in Mount Gambier for those 30 odd years.
Office Administrator (Manager)
Chloe McCreath (sue’s daughter) Chloe came to the Mirambeena in 2010 to stay for 2 weeks before going on a trip around Australia,she is still here but hopeful that the dream trip is not far away. Chloe has exceptional management skills with both clients and staff running the office rosters and client rosters that are the necessary parts of running a Motel business.
Other Key Staff
Kitchen: Head Chef.Tony McNamara 30 plus years as a chef, Sian Bavestock in the kitchen now for 22 years, Gemma,Kylie and Agnes also key players in the kitchen.
Health Safety and Cleaning are headed up by Cora McFarland and Rose Herrera. These 2 people head up our team of around 18 other staff that service the Motel 7 days a week.
Swimming Pool and Grounds: Terry Polick Terry has a vast knowledge of gardens and irrigation methods, Terry is the man behind the beautiful gardens and on going maintenance of the Motel.
